The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) comes alive with the sounds of Baroque music at Alice Tully Hall just in time for the holiday season. The art of chamber music was born during that era, which lasted roughly 150 years until the death of Bach in 1750, and was played by the great virtuosi of the day. CMS will present two concerts of its Baroque Collection program (Dec. 9 & 11), offering works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, and beyond. Plus, CMS will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its traditional annual presentation of Bach's much-loved, complete Brandenburg Concertos with three performances in New York (Dec. 14, 16, & 18), and on tour at the Mondavi Center in Davis, CA (Dec. 8); Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (Dec. 9); and the Harris Theater in Chicago (Dec. 20).

In addition, violinist Erin Keefe - Minnesota Orchestra Concertmaster, an Avery Fisher Career Grant-winner and former member of The Bowers Program (formerly CMS Two) - will lead a free Master Class before a live audience in the Rose Studio for top NYC-region conservatory chamber ensembles (Dec. 10). This event will also be livestreamed. For livestream access and more information, click here. Tickets for concerts may be purchased in person at the Alice Tully Hall box office at Broadway and West 65th St. or the CMS ticketing office at The Samuel B. and David Rose Building, 165 West 65th Street, 10th floor; by calling 212.875.5788; or online at www.chambermusicsociety.org. Visit the CMS website for complete information on New York City performances and touring concerts.
