Casting Announced for Boomerang's '06 In Rep Season

Casting has been announced for Boomerang Theatre Company's 8th season of Boomerang In Rep, beginning September 7th  - October 1st. The season will include the classic Eugene O'Neill Pulitzer Prize winner, Anna Christie, directed by Cailin Heffernan. Brad Fraser's The Ugly Man, directed by Christopher Thomasson and the New York City premiere of Love in the Insecurity Zone by Mike Folie, directed by Rachel Wood at NYC's Center Stage/NY.

Boomerang Theatre continues to celebrate the classics while creating the new and innovative. Boomerang IN REP begins September 7th and will go through October 1st. The productions include:

O'Neill's Anna Christie, directed by Cailin Heffernan, will open on September 9th. "Barge captain Chris Christopherson has come to regard all evil and misfortune as the work of 'dat old davil sea.' His only child Anna, after a separation of 20 years, chooses to reunite with her father. When Anna falls in love with strapping stoker Mat Burke, Anna's destiny hurtles toward her as Chris desperately to change her fate."

The cast will include Steven M. Bari, Dunsten J. Cormack, Michael Kohn, Jennifer Larkin, Linda S. Nelson, and Aidan Redmond.

Fraser's The Ugly Man will be directed by Christopher Thomasson. "Beautiful and spoiled heiress Veronica languishes on a ranch run by her overbearing mother, Sabina. When a hideously scarred drifter arrives looking for work both mother and daughter attempt to use him to their own selfish ends, resulting in tragedy for everyone." It opens September 16th.

The cast will include Paul Caiola,  Bret Jaspers, Jennifer Lyn Perez, Aaron Simms, Barbara Drum Sullivan, Jaime West, and Joe Whelski.

Folie's Love in the Insecurity Zone will be directed by Rachel Wood and will open on September 19th. "In a future U.S. characterized by Security Zones, personal bar code tattoos, and armed commuters, Gayle finds life either boring or terrifying. Her mood is improved by a sudden romance with Hank, a secretive government agent on a mission to find very happy women. When Hank meets Gayle's sister, the perennially happy Pearl, he spirits both women off to Washington, D.C., where they become entangled in a sinister government plot to bottle happiness."

The cast will include Trevor Davis, Jodi Dick, Catherine Dowling, John C. Fitzmaurice, Justin R. G. Holcomb, and Alisha R. Spielmann.

The Boomerang Theatre Company is an award-winning Off-Off-Broadway theatre company based in New York City.
