With her unmistakable voice, classy yet sometimes campy appearance, and unmatchable star-power, Carol Channing makes a highly anticipated New York appearance tonight at BB Kings Blues Club (237 W. 42nd Street, NYC) with showtimes at 8pm and 10:30pm. Tickets are available by calling 212-997-4144 or by visiting Ticketmaster.com. Carol, who recently celebrated her 84th birthday, noted that this show has been nicknamed everything from "Hello, Carol!" to simply, "An Evening With Carol Channing", but she prefers to call it, "The Fist Eighty Years Are The Hardest"! Audiences are sure to be treated to stories and songs Carol made famous, and, naturally, performed in the style Carol made famous. As someone once said, "If Carol Channing didn't exist, no one could have made her up!"

Recipient of the 1995 Lifetime Achievement Tony Award, Carol Channing has been a star since a Time Magazine cover story hailed her performance as Lorelei Lee in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," writing, "Perhaps once in a decade a nova explodes above the Great White Way with enough brilliance to re-illuminate the whole gaudy legend of show business."

Since then, her countless honors have included a Tony Award or nomination for every Broadway show in which she has appeared: an Emmy Award and four additional nominations, an Oscar nomination, a Golden Globe Award, a Best Nightclub Act of the Year Award, Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year Award and an appearance on Nixon's "Hate List," which she numbers among her greatest honors.
