Calliope Theatre Company is proud to announce its world premiere production of Six Windows Presents A Hero Of Our Time, which explores the New York theatre scene through the lens of a 19th century Russian novel.

Devised through improvisation by fourteen actors in collaboration with playwright Will Arbery and director Will Dagger, the play begins moments after the lights go down on the final performance of a young theatre company's latest work, an adaptation of Mikhail Lermontov's A Hero Of Our Time. As the night unfolds in real time, a group of artists struggle to determine what it was all for, and what happens now.

The piece features material created and performed by Kate Hamilton (Far From Heaven), Rania Salem Manganaro* (Hit the Wall), and Emily Walton* (Peter and the Starcatcher, The Shaggs), as well as Ben Becher, Lydian Blossom, Dave Thomas Brown, Matt Crowley, Maria Krovatin, Drew Lewis, Matt Peck, Kate Armstrong Ross, Rachel Sachnoff, Harrison Unger, and Chris Wilson. Set design by Huw Roberts and lighting design by Michael Cecchini. Production stage manager is Zooey Barry. *Actors Appear Courtesy of Actor's Equity.

A preview performance is set for Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 7:30pm, with regular performances July 18-19 & 23-26 at 7:30pm, July 27-28 at 7pm. Location: Medicine Show Theater, located at 549 W 52nd St (between 10th and 11th)
