CINDERELLA is Now Playing in Finland

The Finnish National Ballet will bring the magic of Cinderella back to the stage for the 2025–2026 season, as acclaimed British choreographer David Bintley’s beloved production returns to the Main Stage. Performances will continue through 27 May.

Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s iconic score, Cinderella will run through May 27, 2026, with performances lasting approximately two hours and 40 minutes, including two intermissions. Ticket prices range from 24 to 116 euros, and the production is recommended for audiences ages five and up.

Featuring all the classic elements of the timeless fairy tale — from the Fairy Godmother to the pumpkin carriage — the production follows Cinderella as she overcomes the cruelty of her stepmother and stepsisters on her journey toward happiness. The lavish choreography, combined with sumptuous sets and costumes, promises a dazzling theatrical experience designed to enchant both children and adults.

Originally created for Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2010, Bintley’s Cinderella quickly became a favorite among audiences and critics alike in the United Kingdom. Widely regarded as one of Britain’s most respected choreographers, Bintley has become synonymous with large-scale narrative ballets celebrated for their craftsmanship and theatricality.

Finnish audiences are already familiar with Bintley’s work through his production of A Christmas Carol, which premiered at the National Ballet in December 2023 and was met with immediate acclaim. Now, Cinderella is poised to continue that success, offering an ideal introduction to ballet for young theatergoers while delighting longtime dance fans with its romance, humor, and spectacle.

Performances will take place on the Main Stage of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet in Helsinki.
