Broadway veteran Emily Bergl, last seen in The Public Theater's "Comedy of Errors" and Broadway's "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," will join the cast of Showtime's "Shameless" for Season 4.

Bergl will play Sammi, who is the spitting image of Frank (William H. Macy), except more downtrodden and attracted to the wrong men-including Frank. Married and divorced twice, she has a 6-year old child, but her spirit isn't completely broken.

Repped by Innovative Artists and Thruline Management, Bergl is well known on television for playing Beth Young on "Desperate Housewives" as well as roles on "Southland" and "Men in Trees."

Bergl's next live appearance will be on October 29th at Los Angeles' Rockwell Table and Stage with her cabaret show "Til I Get It Right."

Oscar-nominated William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum star in this fiercely engaging and fearlessly Twisted series. Chicagoan Frank Gallagher is the proud single dad of six smart, industrious, independent kids, who without him would be...perhaps better off. When Frank's not at the bar spending what little money they have, he's passed out on the floor. But the kids have found ways to grow up in spite of him. They may not be like any family you know, but they make no apologies for Being exactly who they are.
