BroadwayWorld is Most Thankful For: Star Returns to Look Forward To- Idina Menzel

Thanksgiving might be over, but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything left to be thankful for this year! Earlier this week, BroadwayWorld brought you entries from over 60 of Broadway's biggest stars on what they are counting their blessings for (CLICK HERE to check out the full list), but now we turn the tables and share with you the reasons why we are thankful this holiday season.

A slew of Broadway favorites will return to the stage in the upcoming theatre season, including Tony winner Idina Menzel, who will lead If/Then (set to open at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on March 27, 2014).

Her Broadway return: On the verge of turning 40, Elizabeth (Menzel) moves back to New York City, the ultimate city of possibility, intent on a fresh start - new home, new friends, and hopes for a resurgent career. But even in her carefully planned new life, the smallest decision or most random occurrence will impact her world in ways she never dreamt possible. Set against the ever-shifting landscape of modern day Manhattan, If/Then is a romantic and original new musical about how choice and chance collide and how we learn to love the fallout. If/Then, the world premiere musical by the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning creative team behind Next To Normal, Tom Kitt (music),Brian Yorkey (book and lyrics), and Michael Greif (director), is currently playing at The National Theatre in Washington, D.C. before heading to Broadway.

Her credits: Menzel received a Tony Award for her performance as Elphaba in the original production of Wicked on Broadway. Idina also received a Tony Award nomination for her debut Broadway performance as Maureen, in the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning hit musical Rent. Her television and film work includes Glee, Disney's Enchanted and the film version of Rent. As a singer/ songwriter, Idina writes and performs her own music, and has undertaken sell-out tours promoting her solo albums. Most recently she released her first live concert album and DVD, Idina Menzel LIVE: Barefoot at the Symphony, recorded in Toronto on her internationally acclaimed symphony tour. She can currently be heard in Disney's latest animated feature Frozen.
