Showtunes will be temporarily banned at Makor (35 W. 67th St.) on September 18th as some of Broadway' vocally versatile talents take center stage for Guilty Pleasures: Broadway Rocks Out.
"Don't expect to hear and Sondheim or
Schwartz..it's more likely to be Zeppelin and Joplin as some of Broadways
biggest talents sing some of rock's greatest songs," according to a press article. "We all know what it takes to be a rock
star... awesome pipes... a dazzling, sexy stage presence... the knack
for holding an audience in the palm of your hand and whipping them into
an emotional frenzy. Hey -- that's exactly what it takes to be a
Broadway star, too. This show lets you in on Broadway's dirty little
secret, its stars love to go unscripted for a night and let loose with
the kind of music they never get to sing on stage."Tickets for the concert are $20, and can be ordered at the following link.
