BroadwayWorld has learned the sad news that Danny McNie passed away within the last day. His family and friends say they were shocked by his death. To raise money for funeral expenses, the actor's friends have set up a page on GoFundMe.

"The loss of Danny McNie in the last day has blindsided his family and friends across the world," reads the GoFundMe page entitled, "Dearest Danny McNie." "Always a source of light and laughter. He needs us today to help his mother, Kathy Hill-McNie, raise the resources to ensure he is given a proper farewell. There is nothing in place to help with his loss. Your donation will be given to Danny's family to cover the funeral expenses and services. Thank you for your generosity and your prayers for our sweet Angel..."

A native of Detroit Michigan, Danny McNie attended the University of Cincinnati - College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), one of the nation's leading music conservatories. Following four years of education, he participated in CCM's annual showcase in New York City for casting directors and agents. Subsequently, he was cast in the National Tour of Cameron Mackintosh's Miss Saigon. Since then, he has worked around the world performing as the Principal Soloist with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in The Music of Alan Menken, in regional productions around the nation, and as a back up vocalist for Deborah Cox.

Watch the tenor sing a lovely rendition of "Go the Distance" from HERCULES.
