Broadening Theatrics, in association with Open Bar Theatricals (openbartheatricals.org), will present a unique production of A Chorus Line in which dancers have been cast regardless of race, gender, body type, age, or gender identity.

Presented by arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc., this rare production, directed and choreographed by Rachel Broadwell, will run March 31st, April 1st, and April 2nd at 8pm at TADA! Theatre (15 W 28th St.).

The ever-popular A Chorus Line features a book by James Kirkwood Jr. & Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch, and lyrics by Edward Kleban. Conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, and co-choreographed by Bob Avian, the show was originally produced on Broadway by the New York Shakespeare Festival, in association with Plum Productions, Inc.

Director/choreographer Broadwell said, "Whenever I would think about A Chorus Line, several images immediately came to my mind. Gold top hats, a woman in red dancing in front of a mirror, a line of iconically posed dancers. But what if you take all of that away? How well do we know the show without these classic images? What if we can let go of what you expect from the show and listen to these stories with a completely new perspective? The original show was built from dancers' experiences, and I hope to pay homage to them by letting our cast bring their own points of view to the material, producing a deeply personal production that is, at its core, about what it is to be a human and what it is to be a dancer."

The cast of A Chorus Line is Posey Bartol, Sebastian Goldberg, Cedric Greene, Alyssa Fuhrman, Benjamin Henley, Erica Hughes, Ashley Lesendric, Joey Lucherini, Caylie Newcom, Andrea Pilar, Benjamin Rowan, Frankie Shin, Anne Marie Snyder, Ian Fields Stewart, Andy Tofa, Katie "KT" Thomas, Andrew White, Erica Wilpon, as well as Elle Doctor, Luz Guillen, Codie Milford, and Rebecca Kostell. A Chorus Line is co-choreographed by Joey Dippel, the music director is Bryson Baumgartel, the percussionist is Kevin McNaughton, the lighting designer is Shane Salk, and the stage manager is Abby Weston.
