Blue Note Jazz Festival presents Savion Glover with special guests McCoy Tynor, Jack DeJohnette, and Roy Haynes from June 12th through 17th at 8 & 10:30 p.m.

A Tony award winner and the youngest ever recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant, Savion Glover has maintained tap dancing as an art form in the modern dance world. At the age of 12 he starred in the leading role in the Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid. In 1996 he choreographed and debuted the starring role in the Broadway musical Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk. His broad cultural appeal includes appearances on Sesame Street, choreography credits for the Disney film Happy Feet (2006), a leading role in Spike Lee’s Bamboozled (2006), and work with Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr.

Mr. Glover’s show comes in advance of his upcoming DVD on Half Note Records Fours (2012), filmed at the Blue Note in 2009 and available later this summer. It features the special guests that will be appearing with him this week: McCoy Tyner (piano) 6/12-13, Jack DeJohnette (drums) 6/14-15 and Roy Haynes (drums) 6/16-17.

Tickets are $45 table seats and $30 at the bar. More information is available at http://www.bluenotejazz.com/.
