Rob Maitner, Bistro Award winner for his critically-acclaimed turn in Fairy Tales, makes his solo cabaret debut in BASKET CASE: A SINGSPIEL FOR THE UNHINGED. From Rodgers and Hammerstein to Alanis Morrisette, from Green Day to William Finn, BASKET CASE is a musical romp through the cluttered mind and frenzied emotional state of a man teetering on the edge. With musical director and former drum major Ray Fellman by his side, Mr. Maitner lends his powerful vocals and unique way with a lyric to a variety of songs from the worlds of musical theatre and pop.

Rob Maitner has been a staple of the downtown theatre scene for the last several years. For his work as Shannon in Poor Super Man at the New York International Fringe Festival, he received a FringeNYC eXcellence Acting Award. Mr. Maitner is also a recipient of two OOBR Awards for his work in A Clockwork Orange and the FringeNYC world premiere production of Urinetown. Other New York credits include Mrs. Seizmagraff in Betty's Summer Vacation, Einstein in Picasso at the Lapin Agile and First Lady Laura Bush in Tony Kushner's Only We Who Guard The Secret Shall Be Unhappy.

The Duplex is located at 61 Christopher Street at 7th Avenue. Performances are April 23, 30 and May 7 at 7pm. Tickets are $12 and there is a two-drink minimum. Credit cards are accepted. Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by calling The Duplex at 212-255-5438.
