Bill Frisell's Disfarmer Project and its companion album, Disfarmer, combine Americana, bluegrass, country, and roots music in response to photographer Mike Disfarmer's remarkable portraits from the Great Depression. Disfarmer captured images of his fellow Heber Springs, Arkansas townspeople during the Depression in stark, insightful black-and-white portraits. During the performance, projected images of these now-iconic portraits will illuminate Frisell's musical perspective to create a heartfelt multimedia production.
