Between Rock and A Bard Place: Crosstalk Continues at The Katonah Museum of Art, 7/15

He refers to himself as a "permanent fixture in the New York rock ‘n' roll broadcast community" and Jimmy Fink is that and more. From WPLJ to WXRK and now 107.1 The Peak, Jimmy has become a legendary on-air personality in his 4-decade run on the radio. For the past 24 seasons Terrence O'Brien has held equal sway in the theater community. As Founding Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, he has provided audiences with a fresh, hip, edgy, and accessible approach to Shakespeare's plays. On Thursday, July 15, Between Rock and a Bard Place will find Fink and O'Brien sharing the CrossTalk conversation at the Katonah Museum of Art (katonahmuseum.org), We can't wait to find out where these two dynamic voices lead us.

A 6:30pm wine reception in the Museum's Sculpture Garden precedes the one-hour program, which begins at 7:00pm at the Museum. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Reservations are suggested. Proceeds from CrossTalk support children's programming at the Katonah Museum of Art and the Katonah Village Library. Jimmy Fink, an award-winning radio personality currently heard on 107.1 The Peak, has been active in the New York rock & roll on-air community since the infancy of FM radio. Before joining The Peak, Fink was an on-air personality at WPLJ and K-Rock and has produced nationally syndicated programs including Rock & Roll Legends New Waves and Rolling Stone Magazine's Continuous History of Rock & Roll. Throughout his fruitful career, Fink has interviewed rock royalty including Elton John, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, and Paul McCartney. Fink is a lifelong resident of Westchester County and is active with the Pediatric Cancer Foundation and Open Door Family Medical Centers,
As the Founding Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Terrence O'Brien has directed over 20 plays with the company, most recently the 2010 production of Troilus and Cressida and the critically-acclaimed 2009 production of Pericles. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received advanced training in acting and directing at the American Conservatory Theater (ACT) in San Francisco. He has directed shows for the Los Angeles Performers Theater, the American Conservatory Theater Studio, and the 29th Street Project in New York City. He has taught acting and directed student work at ACT, UC Berkeley, and The Julliard School. O'Brien is the Director of the American Shakespeare Lab in New York City, a group which seeks to evolve a more spontaneous style of Shakespearean performance.
