With summer right around the corner, Bay Street is in full swing with a schedule chock full of events. The season kicks off with a bang in May as Bay Street Theatre hosts a star-studded, jam-packed evening to dedicate its new second stage.

Bay Street's new 99-seat second stage will be known as THE ANNIE & ELI in honor of Anne Jackson and Eli Wallach and their lifetime achievements in the theatre arts. On Saturday, May 1st, Bay Street Theatre will host a special evening to dedicate the stage with both live appearances and videotaped tributes from their friends and colleagues. Appearing live on stage will be a number of legendary artists including Lauren Bacall, Zoe Caldwell, Brian Murray, Patricia Neal, Joe Pintauro, Peter Riegert, Murray Schisgal, Jerry Stiller & Anne Meara, and Betsy von Furstenberg. Messages will also be included from Barbara Cook, Harvey Keitel, Mike Nichols, Al Pacino, Kate Winslet and more. The evening will kick-off at 6:30pm with a wine reception in the Bay Street lobby followed by a special performance in the theater featuring the artists' tributes. Premium tickets are also available which include dinner with the stars.

By developing a 99-seat house, Bay Street can present new and experimental works. In addition, this space will house the already popular Workshops sponsored by the Lucille Lortel Foundation, which allow for projects still in development during non-summer months.

Tickets for the wine reception and the show are $150. A limited number of $500 premium tickets are also available, which will include dinner with the stars at The American Hotel following the performance. In addition, anyone interested in helping Bay Street ‘build' THE ANNIE & ELI 2ND STAGE can become a Construction Angel by buying a ‘virtual brick'. ‘Bricks' are $250 each and will be represented on a permanent plaque to be displayed in the Theatre. Bricks can be purchased for a personal or company listing or to honor a loved one. To purchase a "virtual brick" call Julie Fitzgerald at 631-725-0818 x 101.

For tickets or more information about the May 1st tribute, go to www.baystreet.org, call the Bay Street Box Office at 631-725-9500 or visit us on the Long Wharf, Sag Harbor. The Box office is open Tues-Sat 11am-6pm.
