A master class with Broadway legend Barbara Cook will receive a live webcast on Tuesday, February 21st at 3 PM on the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' website.

The master class, held at the LPA, will feature six students (Marvin Avila, Randy Blair, Amanda Guillett, Jessica Klein, Kendall Lima, and James Rodgers), focusing on the songs of Irving Berlin, who penned such musicals as Annie Get Your Gun and Call Me Madam.

Cook, who will appear alongside fellow legend Elaine Stritch at Lincoln Center on February 27th, made her Broadway debut as the leading lady of 1951's Flahooley. She received a Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award for her portrayal of Marian Paroo in the original production of The Music Man. She also originated the roles of Cunegonde in Candide and Amalia Balash in She Loves Me. Other Broadway credits include Plain and Fancy, The Gay Life, Any Wednesday and The Grass Harp. In the last few decades, the former ingenue has increasingly turned to the worlds of concert and cabaret. Mostly Sondheim was nominated for a Best Special Theatrical Event Tony in 2002, and in addition to Barbara Cook's Broadway (available on DRG along with Mostly Sondheim), she appeared in Barbara Cook: A Concert for the Theatre. Her many albums include "Count Your Blessings," "It's Better with a Band," "Oscar Winners: The Lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein II" and "Tribute."

Seating for the master class is limited. Tickets will be distributed, one per person, from 1:00 p.m. on the day of the program at the Library's Plaza Level Information Desk. The program will be simultaneously webcast at www.nypl.org/lpaprograms.
