Soprano Barbara Cook, who turns 80 years-old today, Thursday, October 25, will celebrate this milestone birthday with three special concerts in Los Angeles, New York and London.

Cook begins her 80th birthday celebration on Saturday, October 27 on the West Coast when she returns to Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall to perform her latest concert "No One Is Alone," which she premiered at Carnegie Hall last November.

Next month the birthday celebration moves East when Miss Cook performs two concerts with the New York Philharmonic on Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20.  These concerts will mark the singer's first appearance with the New York Philharmonic in over twenty years, since she co-starred in the Philharmonic's now legendary concert production of the Stephen Sondheim musical Follies.  The concerts, which will have musical direction by Lee Musiker, will feature her singing nearly two dozen songs by a legendary roster of composer and lyricists ranging from Sigmund Romberg, Harold Arlen and Kurt Weill to Rodgers & Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Bacharach & David.

The 80th Birthday celebration will culminate in London on Sunday, December 2 with an all-star West End tribute: "World AIDS Day Concert – Barbara Cook and Friends" at the London Coliseum.  Such West End stars as Elaine Paige, Julia McKenzie, Ruthie Henshall, Anne Reid, Maureen Lippman, Nicholas Parsons, Sian Phillips, Daniel Evans, Graham Bickley, Sally Anne Triplett will join Ms. Cook for the evening, which will benefit Interact Worldwide, a UK-based international AIDS charity.
