As the hot summer season draws to a close, Universal Studios, Hollywood wrapped up their "Wicked Wednesday" series of live events on August 15, 2007 with performances by Eden Espinosa and Megan Hilty, currently starring in the Los Angeles sit down production of Wicked, playing at the nearby Pantages Theatre.

The two witches from Oz turned out for an energetic crowd to sing such Wicked songs as "Popular," "The Wizard and I" and "For Good," before taking time to sign autographs with their fans.

Throughout the summer various cast members from the Los Angeles production of Wicked took to Universal Studio's Blues Brothers Stage including Carol Kane, John Rubenstein, Julie Reiber, Melissa Fahn and Adam Lambert.

BroadwayWorld's James Sims was on hand for the live event and had an opportunity to catch up with the two leading ladies.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman. It is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.

Espinosa currently stars as Elphaba in Los Angeles, following a turn in the role on Broadway which can also be said for her costar, Hilty, who performs the role of Glinda. Rubinstein, Kane, Kristoffer Cusick and Jenna Leigh Green also star in the local production.
