Feature: RENT FINALLY OPENS ITS DOORS TO COMMUNITY ACTORS at Some Theatre Company Having been performed in our area by several youth groups, RENT is finally getting it's Community Theatre debut in the Greater Bangor area this April.

Back in December, Some Theatre Company watched 49 hopefuls audition for one of Broadways most beloved shows. The level of talent in the area was outstanding, and several auditionees travelled well over 2 hours to sing and dance their way through the audition process.

Having opened some of the roles to older casting, Some Theatre Company saw an influx of singers and actors who had not auditioned previously in the area, or, who had been taking an extended hiatus from the stage.

This production will be mounted in Orono, at the Keith Anderson Community House and run for two weekends in April. Known for their clever and innovated twists on shows, this one will be no exception and will see KACH once again transformed. Some Theatre Company's last musical, CARRIE, completely flipped the space around and used it in one of the most unusual and immersive ways possible, making the audience part of the show. When asked if RENT would do the same, the answer was, to expect the unexpected, which is something audiences have come to expect and love with Some Theatre Company.

Hot off their smash hit, Boys Next Door, which saw Shayne Bither win BWW Maines award for Best Actor, Some Theatre Company has produced 11 shows in two years, and will also produce Love Letters and Wilde Tales this February while RENT is in rehearsals.

Show dates for RENT are:
April 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29

Tickets will be on sale soon: www.sometheatrecompany.org
