DiBella Entertainment's Broadway Boxing series returns to New York City on Wednesday, October 22 at BB King Blues Club in Times Square. In the ten-round main event, local favorite Edgar Santana, from Spanish Harlem, takes on Monterrey, Mexico's Luis Rodriguez, and former WBO world champion Randall Bailey battles Kpakop Allotey.  Originally from Manati, Puerto Rico, the ever-popular Santana (25-3, 15 KOs), a winner of 18 out of 19 bouts over the last five years, is poised to become a world-rated contender, but must first overcome the formidable Rodriguez (22-2, 13 KOs), who has won seven out of eight and made a strong showing during a points defeat to Francisco Figueroa in a bid for the NABF belt on May 14 in NYC. Former WBO junior welterweight world champion Bailey (37-6, 34 KOs) from Miami, Florida, continues to be one of the most feared punchers in the 140 pound division – having iced Anthony Mora to pick up the vacant WBC Latino jr. welterweight title in January and scoring a first-round knockout over Dario Esalas on the last Broadway Boxing card at BB King Blues Club on August 6th. The 34-year-old Bailey will take on Silver Spring, Maryland's Allotey (14-5, 12 KOs) in a ten rounder. Of Ghanaian descent, Allotey arrives with extensive big fight experience, having just won the vacant WBA Pan African lightweight belt via TKO 5 over Gabriel Phakula on August 4 in Accra, Ghana.  Also on the October 22 show, Staten Island's Gary Stark Jr. returns to action for the first time since avenging a May 2007 loss to Andres Ledesma by unanimously outpointing Ledesma at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom on March 5. Stark Jr. (21-2, 8 KOs) will be in ten-round junior featherweight action. In addition, two-time NY Golden Gloves champion and 2008 National Golden Gloves champion Tor Hamer, a recent Penn State graduate, will make his pro debut at heavyweight versus Joe Rabotte (2-3, 1 KO). Hamer is one of the newest members of the DBE team.   Rounding out the seven bout card will be light heavyweight Will Rosinsky (1-0, 1 KO) from Queens; Brooklyn's Philip Jackson Benson in a middleweight pro debut versus Robert Harris from Youngstown, Ohio; and super middleweight Hajra Sujak (1-0) from the Bronx. DiBella Entertainmnet is partnering with Everlast for Breast Cancer Awareness month. "DBE is happy to support the effort to find a cure for breast cancer. I've been personally touched by this disease. My sister is a breast cancer survivor," said DBE president Lou DiBella. DiBella Entertainment and Everlast are both proud to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation who is committed through research to finding a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. To support this initiative and promote awareness, Everlast will display a pink canvas and corner cushions at the event and every fighter on the card will be outfitted in Pink Everlast Pro Fight Gloves.

File Under:  Rock, Jewish, World, Jam Band
NB:  SRO – Tickets on Sale October 9
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$15 adv, $18 at door
SOULFARM consists of four guys from New York who are forging an exciting new sound by combining the musical roots of their heritage with a shared passion for melodic song writing and modern, progressive arrangements. Their unique sound offers the rare combination of a multigenerational and cross-cultural appeal. Live, the band's riveting world-beat energy turns heads and makes every audience take notice. Founded in New York City by guitarist and lead singer Noah Solomon Chase and lead guitarist-singer C Lanzbom, SOULFARM plays New American music. C, Noah and Bassist-Yoshi Fruchter comprise the band's uniquely positioned three-part harmony. Together with Drummer Andrew Frawley, they create a potent sound that screams originality as it melds a wide range of influences from rock and Latin, to Hebrew and Celtic folk music. Fueled by Lanzbom's captivating guitar leads, SOULFARM delivers it all with a flavor some like to call Mediterranean with a strong mix of native percussion, dance rhythms and confident, driving rhythm guitar that forces the listener to not only hear, but become the music. The Israeli-born MOSHAV BAND grew up on Moshav Mevo Modiim, a musical village located in the hills between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Their home, founded by the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, was and continues to be the birthplace of many Jewish songs enjoyed by the world over. The members of the Moshav Band were under the spiritual guidance of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, while immersed in his musical world, often performing with him at his concerts. The Moshav Band, primarily composed of the Solomon brothers: Yehuda (vocals, percussion), Meir (vocals, guitar, mandolin) , Yosef (bass) as well as friend, David Swirsky (vocals, guitar) comes on like a family of traveling minstrels, court jesters, and the old-age mystics all at once. Their music is rich with fiery rock/folk/reggae songs, spiced with the flavors of the Middle East. The boys draw you into their own struggles, and leave you pondering your own, but not before they provide you with a huge helping of hope.

$30 adv, $35 at door
Cult London 3 piece The Tiger Lillies play a twisted fusion of pre-war Berlin cabaret and avant garde music hall in deranged anarchic gypsy style...with such a unique sound, audiences around the world are both delighted and shocked by their darkly comedic and deranged songs covering controversial subjects such as blasphemy and bestiality, rape, murder, lowlifes and whores with unashamed theatrics and wit. The Trio are fronted by singer Martyn Jacques who trained himself as an opera singer with a castrati style voice of heartbreaking beauty, whilst living alone above a strip joint in Soho for seven years. Accompanied by drummer Adrian Huge, whose appearance was described by David Byrne as James Joyce on drums, and who must doubtlessly be one if not the most famous drummer to frequently exchange his drumsticks in favour of rubber chickens and toy babies, and double bass / musical saw player Adrian Stout. Jacques plays accordion as he sings savage and passionate songs about the darkest side of human nature, his voice soaring and growling like a man possessed.

Unless otherwise noted, all shows at both venues are suitable for all ages and offer general admission seating.
