Auditions For 2010 Globe Honors Competition Set for May 1
Recognizing excellence in High School theater, auditions for the 2010 Globe Honors competition will take place on May 1 at The Old Globe. Semifinalists and finalists will perform on The Old Globe Stage on May 17 at 8:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with the announcement of the Globe Honors winners and an award ceremony. Winners of the annual competition will receive scholarships and the Leading Actor and Actress winners will receive an all expenses paid trip to New York City to compete in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA) to be held June 28 at the Palace Theatre on Broadway.
High School students may compete in five categories:Outstanding Achievement, Leading Actor in a High School Musical;
Outstanding Achievement, Leading Actress in a High School Musical;
Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater;
Outstanding Achievement in Spoken Theater; and
Outstanding Achievement in Technical Theater.
