Theatre veterans Robert Prosky and Jana Robbins will star in Awake and Sing!, the Clifford Odets play that will be presented by Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage from January 20th through March 5th.

Richard Canzano, Adam Dannheisser, Adam Green, Hugh Nees, Brian Reddy, Steve Routman and Miriam Silverman will also be seen in the social realist drama. Helmed by Arena Stage Founding Director Zelda Fichlander, the show is "a compelling tale of heritage and tradition set in a humble New York apartment housing a proud Jewish family. Under the weight of the great depression, when each day seems like a struggle just to survive, the Bergers must work to maintain their storied culture and keep their family together. But through it all, they hold tight to their seemingly impossible dreams, always believing that a better life is within their reach."

Prosky received Tony Award nominations for his Broadway turns in A Walk in the Woods and Glengarry Glen Ross, and has also appeared in Democracy, Twelve Angry Men and Moonchildren; he has appeared at Arena Stage in a plethora of productions. Robbins, who is also a successful producer, has been seen on Broadway in The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Gypsy, Romance/Romance, Crimes of the Heart, I Love My Wife and Good News.

Arena's production of Awake and Sing! will feature sets by Andromache Chalfant, costumes by Linda Cho, lighting by Allen Lee Hughes, and sound by Marc Gwinn. The D.C. production will precede a Broadway revival that will star Ben Gazzara, Lauren Ambrose and Zoe Wanamaker, among others. Directed by The Light in the Piazza's Bartlett Sher, it will open on April 17th at the Belasco Theatre.
