Andrea Martin and Seth Rudetsky to Appear at 2015 Fire Island Pines Literary and Theater Weekend

The 8th Annual Fire Island Pines Literary and Theater Weekend will feature two-time Tony and Emmy Award-winner Andrea Martin (slated for Broadway's upcoming produection of NOISES OFF) and Emmy nominee and theatre multihyphenate Seth Rudetsky, in performance and signing copies of their latest publications: ANDREA MARTIN'S LADY PARTS, a memoir by Ms. Martin, and THE RISE AND FALL OF A THEATER GEEK, Mr. Rudetsky's latest young adult novel.

The performance and talkback will take place Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at The Madison Fire Island Pines, Fire Island Pines, New York.

Christine Pedi (NEWSical the Musical/Host of SiriusXM's On Broadway) will serve as host. Ben Hodges, president of Theatre World Media and editor-in-chief of the acclaimed Theatre World series, will produce the event for the eighth straight year.

Previous participants include Tony winners Christopher Durang, Doug Wright, Donna McKechnie, and Jerry Mitchell.

Andrea Martin will next be seen starring in Michael Frayn's Noises Off on Broadway this fall, as well as in Hulu's half-hour comedy Difficult People with Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner, produced by Klausner and Amy Poehler. A veteran of television, stage, and film, Andrea won Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Awards for her performance in the current Broadway revival of Pippin. Her theatre credits include My Favorite Year (Tony, Drama Desk, and Theatre World Awards); Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein (Tony, Drama Desk Award nominations); Oklahoma! (Tony, Drama Desk Award nominations); Candide (Tony, Drama Desk Award nominations); and the legendary Toronto production of Godspell, in which she co-starred with future collaborators and SCTV alumni Martin Short, Eugene Levy, and Dave Thomas. For her writing on SCTV, Martin earned two Emmy Awards. Her film appearances include The Producers, Wag the Dog, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. She will next be seen on screen in the forthcoming feature film, Night at the Museum 3. In Andrea Martin's Lady Parts (Harper Collins), Martin, for the first time, shares her fondest remembrances of a life in show business, motherhood, relationships, no relationships, chimps in tutus, squirrels, and why she flies to Atlanta to get her hair cut. Martin opens up her heart in a series of eclectic, human, always entertaining, and often moving essays. Seth Rudetsky is the afternoon host on SiriusXM Satellite Radio's On Broadway, and the host of Seth Speaks on SiriusXM Stars. As a pianist, Seth has played for more than a dozen Broadway shows including Ragtime, LES MISERABLES, and The Phantom of the Opera. In 2007 he made his Broadway acting debut playing Sheldon in The Ritz directed by Joe Mantello, and Off-Broadway he wrote and starred in Rhapsody in Seth at the Actors Playhouse. He has appeared on television in Law and Order C.I., as well in a recurring role on All My Children. His publications include Q Guide to Broadway, Broadway Nights, and My Awesome/Awful Popularity Plan (Random House). He co-wrote and directed Disaster!, writes a weekly column on Playbill.com, and tours the country doing master classes and performing his one-man show, Deconstructing Broadway. Seth Rudetsky's second YA novel The Rise and Fall of a Theater Geek (Random House) is endearingly human, laugh-out-loud funny, and for any kid who's ever aspired to Broadway but can only sneak in through the stage door. Sixteen-year-old Justin Goldblatt has a Jewfro and a dream: to work on Broadway! Now, with a winter internship for a famous actor, he finally has his chance to shine. Christine Pedi can be heard daily hosting On Broadway on Sirius XM Radio's Channel 72, from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The "Lady of 1,000 Voices" known for her vast array of celebrity impressions, she received a Drama Desk nomination for her work in the legendary musical revue Forbidden Broadway. She is currently in the long-running Off-Broadway show NEWSical the musical, spoofing pop culture and politics. A multi-award-winning cabaret artist, she has performed all over the U.S. as well as South Africa (and returns to London in October 2015). On Broadway she was Mama Morton in Chicago, and appeared in Talk Radio with Liev Schreiber and with Martin Short in Little Me.
