On Saturday, December 31, 2005, ALMOST HEAVEN: SONGS OF JOHN DENVER, will conclude its run at Off-Broadway's Promenade Theatre (2162 Broadway at 76th Street). At that time, ALMOST HEAVEN will have played 12 previews and 61 regular performances. Directed by Tony Award nominee Randal Myler (It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues), ALMOST HEAVEN opened on Wednesday, November 9.

Hailed by Daily Variety as "an excellent tribute and a winning musical revue," ALMOST HEAVEN weaves together the songs of John Denver to create a uniquely theatrical narrative that reflects upon the country during the years in which he wrote them. Twenty-nine of Denver's songs – including "Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine on My Shoulders," "Annie's Song," "Leaving on a Jet Plane," "Calypso" and more – are rediscovered and reinvented, performed against a backdrop of stunning visual images.

Originally conceived by Harold Thau, ALMOST HEAVEN features orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Jeff Waxman. The production stars Jennifer Allen, Terry Burrell, Valisia Lekae Little, Lee Morgan, Jim Newman and Nicholas Rodriguez. ALMOST HEAVEN is produced by Harold Thau in association with Lexie Potamkin, R.H. & Ann Crossland, Lawrence J. Winnerman and Robert Courson. The production is currently booking a series of regional engagements at venues across the country.

ALMOST HEAVEN plays daily now through December 31 (with no performance on Saturday, December 24). Please call Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 for performance times. Tickets are $51.25-$69.50 (prices include a $1.25 facility fee) and can be purchased at Telecharge.com or inperson at the Promenade Theatre Box Office.
