The Carlyle Hotel has announced the 2007 Fall/Winter Season of performers at the legendary Café Carlyle.
The exciting season includes the return engagements of Eartha Kitt and Grammy-Award winning vocalist Steve Tyrell. Woody Allen and The Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band will once again perform on Monday evenings.
About the new season, Managing Director James McBride commented, "Each of these artists creates an exciting, standing-room-only atmosphere at the Carlyle, and we are thrilled that they remain in our family. I am particularly honored that we will be graced by the presence of Ms. Kitt during her 80th birthday year."
Since its opening in 1955, the Café Carlyle has remained one of the nation¹s ultimate destinations for cabaret and jazz. Lined with unique murals by Vertes, the intimate Café Carlyle has long been the home of legendary entertainers, and legendary evenings.
In preparation for the new season of entertainment, the Café Carlyle will undergo a soft renovation during the summer months. The New York design firm of Scott Salvator will oversee the project, which will include the installation of newly designed banquets, chairs, as well as a state-of-the-art sound and light system. The murals will remain untouched.
