On Friday's "Theater Talk," legendary filmmaker Albert Maysles will discuss his classic documentary, Grey Gardens, the inspiration for this season's hit Broadway musical of the same name.

"Maysles gives background and insight into the making of the film, including his and his brother's relationship with the films infamous subjects, Big and Little Edie Beale," state press notes. 

"Maysles also discusses his lengthy career making some of the most important and seminal non-fiction films, including Gimme Shelter and Salesman.  This episode of 'Theater Talk' is a must-see for all fans of the musical  or anyone interested in direct cinema and the craft of film making.

The show premieres on Thirteen on Friday, July 13 at 12:30 AM. It will also air on Boston's WGBH/44 at 4 PM on Sunday, July 15.
