AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY to Open at eMBer Women's Theatre
Michelle Batt, co-founder of the company, directs the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama.
Ember Women's Theatre will present: August: Osage County by Tracy Letts. When the Weston family gathers at their Oklahoma farmhouse following the disappearance of their patriarch, old wounds, buried secrets, and long-held resentments quickly rise to the surface. At the center is Violet Weston, a sharp-tongued, deeply troubled matriarch whose battle with addiction and illness collides with the struggles of her three daughters. Through dark humor, explosive confrontations, and moments of heartbreaking honesty, August: Osage County exposes the complicated bonds of family and the painful truths that can emerge when there is nowhere left to hide.
The production opens on Friday, September 18th and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm until October 3rd, including Sunday matinees on Sunday, September 20th and September 27th at 2pm. Performances will be at MadLab Theatre, 227 N. 3rd Street, Columbus, OH 43215.
Admission is $25 for all patrons. August: Osage County is directed by Michelle Batt and assistant directed by Michael Trakas.
The cast features Nick Baldesare as Beverly Weston, Jennifer Myers as Violet Weston, Melissa Bair as Barbara Fordham, Jeff Potts as Bill Fordham, Grace Beikirch as Jean Fordham, Susan Wismar as Ivy Weston, Alyssa Ryan as Karen Weston, Susan Slome as Mattie Fae Aiken, Jed Hudson as Charlie Aiken, Kyle Roby as Little Charles Aiken, Reina Watson as Johnna Monevata, Jonathan Nawn as Steve Heidebrecht and Brant Jones as Sheriff Deon Gilbeau.
