ABTKids Workshop Series, one-hour activity-based programs to introduce children to the ballet, will present a Romeo & Juliet Pre-Performance Workshop, suited for ages 10-16, on Saturday, June 15 at 11:00 AM and a Sylvia Pre-Performance Workshop, for children ages 6-12, on Saturday, June 29 at 11:00 AM in the rehearsal studios at the Metropolitan Opera House.

Pre-matinee workshops prepare children ages 6-16 to fully engage in the performance that follows. Divided into groups according to age, children participate in activities directed by ABT Teaching Artists. Children are guided through a ballet warm-up and taught a short piece of choreography based on that day's scheduled performance. Children need no prior dance background, as all levels are welcome. Participants should be comfortably dressed and prepared to move.

All tickets for the June 15 and June 29 workshops are $20 and are available online at http://www.abt.org/education/workshops.asp. The Metropolitan Opera House is located on Broadway between 64th and 65th streets in New York City. For more information, visit ABT's website at www.abt.org or call 212-419-4321.
