A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, WHAT BECAME OF US, And More Set for Human Race Theatre Company 2026-27 Season

The Human Race Theatre Company has announced its 2026–2027 Loft Season, featuring five productions connected by themes of perception and reality. The season will include a mix of contemporary works and a classic play, inviting audiences to consider how truth is shaped and understood.

“In planning for this season, we knew that a big question would be on the table again,” said Artistic Director Emily N. Wells. “While at the same time, we want to offer our fans an enticing, entertaining night out with shows that will linger with them after they leave.”

Subscriptions are available in multiple packages, including a new Generation HRTC rate for audiences ages 20–40. Flexible options include three-show packages and membership programs. A Parents Day Out Series is also available, along with military and student discounts. Tickets are available through the Dayton Live Box Office at 937-228-3630 or online.

SALEM: BLOOD TO DRINK

In this modern dark comedy about the Salem witch trials, Elizabeth Proctor joins Sarah Good, Bridget Bishop, and Ann Foster as they face accusations of witchcraft in 1692. As the women confront their shared circumstances, the play explores power, fear, and the shifting dynamics of community.

REINDEER SESSIONS

After an incident leaves Blitzen with a broken nose, he is sent to anger management therapy, where the story of what happened on Christmas Eve unfolds. The production returns to the Loft Stage following its earlier premiere.

Shakespeare’s romantic comedy is reimagined in a beach setting, following four young lovers and a cast of magical characters as their stories intertwine.

WHAT BECAME OF US

This play follows siblings Q and Z as they reflect on their upbringing and their family’s immigration experience. Through memory and storytelling, the work examines identity, belonging, and the complexities of family relationships.

JOB

June 2 – 13, 2027 – Regional Premiere

A psychological thriller, Job follows a content moderator struggling to separate her work from her personal reality. The play explores the impact of digital labor and the boundaries between professional and personal life.
