92Y Announces The First Mobile Dance Film Festival 7/28 Mobile technology has empowered a new generation of filmmakers. Instagram now allows longform video content. Into this ever-changing creative landscape 92Y announces a date for the inaugural 92Y Mobile Dance Film Festival, the first dance film festival featuring works shot entirely on mobile devices. 24 films were chosen as Official Selections by an international jury of dance filmmakers, out of more than 50 film submissions from 14 countries- Azerbaijan; Italy; Kazakhstan; Poland; Russia; Turkey; England; USA; Spain; the Netherlands; Italy; Sweden; Venezuela; and Japan.

The MDFF takes place on July 28, with two programs of screenings:

  • Program A, 4 pm
    • 11 Official Selections. Runtime: 70 minutes
  • Program B, 7 pm
    • 13 Official Selection. Runtime: 70 minutes

The remaining submitted films play on several mobile devices around 92Y's lobby throughout the day, making up a Mobi Mini Fest.
