60th Annual Tonys Receives Director's Guild Nomination

Glenn Weiss and the directing team of the 60th Annual Tony Awards, were honored with a Director's Guild nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Musical Variety category. 

In addition to Mr. Weiss, nominated members of his directing team include Associate Directors Gregg Gelfand, and Robin Mishkin-Abrams; as well as Stage Managers Garry W. Hood, Peter Epstein, Andrew Feigen, Lynn Finkel, Douglas Fogel, Jeffry Gitter, Arthur Lewis, Ricky Kirshner, Cyndi Owgang, Jeffrey Pearl, Rose Riggins and Lauren Schneider.  This is Mr. Weiss' fourth DGA nomination.  He was previously nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety in 2005 for "The 59th Annual Tony Awards," in 2002 for The 56th Annual Tony Awards, and in 2001 for "The 55th Annual Tony Awards."   The Tony Awards are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing.

The 60th Annual Tony Awards also received a Writer's Guild Nomination in the Comedy/Variety – Music, Awards, Tributes, Specials category. 

The 61st Annual American Theatre Wing's Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards will be broadcast live on the CBS television network from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 10, 2007. 

The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Charlotte St. Martin is Executive Director. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2007 Tony Awards.  Mr. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2007 Tony Awards.
