Monarch Presents and Peter Schneider Productions present BACK TO THE GARDEN.

Challenged by the traditional images of women in the music-industry, Carole King, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, and Laura Nyro explored territory outside the accepted confines of pop music. These prolific singer/songwriters paved the way for women in music, art, and life. Their music is the core of Back to the Garden, a concert style song cycle that honors the stories, music, and history of these women.

Back to the Garden began in Brooklyn, made it's way up to Lower Manhattan at the Canal Room, and is now being presented at the 45th Street Theatre in Midtown Manhattan on March 22nd. This one night only performance features the talents of Melissa Hammans (Lovesick, The Breakup Notebook), Carey Anderson (Broadway's Mamma Mia & Avenue Q), Debra Barsha (Associate Conductor for Jersey Boys), indie-songstress Maddy Wyatt, and brassy belter Amy Lynn Zanetto with musicians Barbara Merjan, Mary Rodriquez, Sue Terwilliger and Jennifer Vincent.
