WE'LL MEET AGAIN, a new musical inspired by the real-life story of Heinz “Henry” Stern and his family’s escape from Nazi Germany, will receive its first professional production this summer at the Bell Theater in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Presented by the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in association with Loveliest Village LLC and Mount Jefferson LLC, the production will run for 12 performances from June 18–28, 2026 at Bell Theater at Bell Works.

Created and written by James R. Harris with musical arrangements by composer Mark Hayes, the musical follows the story of Henry Stern, a young Jewish boy whose family fled Nazi Germany in 1937 before settling in Alabama, where they were embraced by their local community. The score includes Jewish musical traditions alongside American songs from the 1940s, including “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “I’ll Be Seeing You.”

The production is directed by Broadway veteran Daniel Kutner, whose credits include PRINCE OF BROADWAY and LOVEMUSIK.

“As the nation begins the celebration of its 250th anniversary of freedom,” said Executive Artistic Director Andrew DePrisco in a statement, “the story of We'll Meet Again feels more relevant than ever and reminds us of the importance of human kindness and the hope for a better America.”

Five-decade Broadway performer Herndon Lackey will lead the cast as Henry Stern. His previous Broadway credits include LES MISÉRABLES, PARADE, and KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN. The cast also includes Joy Hermalyn, Adam B. Shapiro, James C. Harris, Erikka Makic, and Jordan Patrick Blake.
