Shakespeare's last and most subversive comedy is transported to present day Albuquerque, NM, replacing the high crime Vienna of Duke Vincentio who after 14 years of lawlessness and rampant licentiousness decides to turn the power of the state over to Angelo, a precise and severe judge. Angelo sentences Claudio to death for fornication and then demands that Isabella, novice nun and Claudio's sister, sleep with him to prevent Claudio's execution. Shades of the Me Too movement, current political turmoil and laughs! A "problem play" for our age.
