East Mountain Dance presents a fairytale favorite, Cinderella! the ballet. Cinderella, a young woman who is mistreated and underestimated by her stepmother and stepsisters, overcomes adversity and hardship with a little encouragement, guidance, and magic from her mystical Fairy Godmother. Join us as we follow Cinderella from dust and rags, through a garden of fairies, to a splendid ball at the palace, and back home where she finds herself awakening from the dream that is about to become her reality.
Set to the melodious music by composer Sergei Prokofiev, first premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet in 1945 and presented by ballet companies around the world, Cinderella is now coming to the National Hispanic Cultural Center stage and being performed by local New Mexico students from East Mountain Dance.
