VSA North Fourth Art Center Holds ORDINARY MAGIC Auditions, 12/11-13

Announcing auditions for Ordinary Magic, a new play by William Snow to be produced at VSA North Fourth Theater.  Ordinary Magic is based on the life of Alexandra David-Neel, a pioneering French explorer and writer who, in the early part of the 20th century, became the first Westerner to reach Lhasa, the forbidden city of Tibet.
 
Auditions will take place at VSA North Fourth Art Center on Saturday, December 11th and Sunday, December 12th from 12 - 4 pm, with callbacks on Monday, December 13th at 7 pm., Auditions are by appointment only, and will consist of theatre games and reading of the text.  Headshots and resumes are appreciated.
 
Kristen Loree will be playing the role of Alexandra. We are looking to cast 6 other ensemble members:
 
Philippe Neel (M, 40-60) Alexandra's husband, an engineer.
 
Yongden (M, 20-40) A young Tibetan lama, Alexandra's traveling companion and adopted son.
 
2 Men (25-55) to play multiple roles.
 
2 Women (25-55) to play multiple roles.
 
Performers with a physical theatre background, and of all types and ethnicities are encouraged to audition.  Ensemble members will receive a small stipend for their work.
 
Rehearsals start January 18th, 3 days a week until April.
Performances April 15th - May 1st, 2011.
