Popejoy Presents The TEN Tenors

Arguably Australia's most successful international touring acts with 29 countries to their touring credits, The TEN Tenors have announced a Spring Tour across the United States, celebrating their new album Wish You Were Here. A Tribute to iconic artists who have left us too soon including Prince, David Bowie, Michael Hutchence, John Lennon, Amy Winehouse, Roy Orbison and more, the album marks the 20th Anniversary of touring for the iconic The TEN Tenors, which will perform at Popejoy Hall on Sunday, February 25, 2018.

"We were rehearsing Bowie's iconic 'Heroes' in Melbourne for the very first time when news filtered through of his death," said The Ten Tenors producer D-J Wendt. "It had a marked impact on the band and performing that song has taken on a whole new meaning. On tour just a few months later, we were impacted by the loss of another icon, Prince and as 2016 continued we knew our next album should pay tribute to these iconic artists who have departed before their time. We wanted to rise above the sadness to create a musical celebration of their lives and legacies."

Fun, impressive and with enough energy to power half a city,The TEN Tenors bring to the USA their explosive 20th anniversary show, straight off the back of a stellar national tour across Australia in 2017. The musical arrangements are slick, fresh and expertly performed : the stadium-feel of the show helping the audience to get carried along by the infectious energy of the group.

Wish You Were Here is a journey through some of the world's greatest hits. From classic rock anthems of Queen and Bowie through to Australia's Jon English and Michael Hutchence and even unique 'tenorial' takes on Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse, this tour is a true representation of the world's popular music songbook. Listeners will have chills as they hear Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" sung by ten of Australia's finest voices and feet will start moving as their dancefloor-ready version of Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel" celebrates artistry across generations and genres. The spring tour comes on the back of yet another sold-out international tour across the USA, where the band broke box office records in Palm Springs with eight consecutive sold-out shows at the iconic McCallum Theatre, breaking a thirty-year record held by Johnny Mathis.

The group has now sold out 29 shows here in 5 years. The group has previously released thirteen albums including the platinum smash Tenology and gold- accredited Here's to the Heroes. They have graced music charts across Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey and US Today Shows, played alongside Andrea Bocelli, Christina Aguilera and Keith Urban and become one of Australia's best- loved international musical icons. The TEN Tenors take Wish You Were Here on the road, playing across the United States in February & March 2018. Don't miss the opportunity to experience the power of The TEN Tenors live.
