The Albuquerque Theatre Guild has created a new category of membership for secondary-school drama programs in the greater Albuquerque area. This High-School Organizational Membership category includes many of the same privileges as other ATG member organizations.
"We were pleased to be able to make the announcement of the new membership category at the annual George Nason High School Drama Showcase Festival November 18-19, 2010 at Albuquerque High and Manzano High Schools," says Preston Mendenhall, Albuquerque Theater Guild's President. "The Festival brings together teachers and students from many high school programs in the Albuquerque region and was a great opportunity to reach our high school audience." High School Organizational Membership category includes: · The opportunity to post announcements, performances, open auditions, and other drama-related activities on the Guild website. · ATG brochure privileges beginning with the Fall 2011 issue. · Access to ATG general auditions, workshops, mutual assistance programs (e.g., the Props and Costumes Sharing program), and Social Events. · A Liaison Coordinator to help keep high school member organization informed of ATG activities and deadlines, and keep the ATG aware of the interests and concerns of the school organizations.
The new membership category complements the previously announced High School Preview Nights Program of the Guild. Two groups of drama students will attend performances of Tricklock Company's production of "Traitors." Ten students from Menaul School attended the dress rehearsal and post-rehearsal talk back on November 17.A larger group from Atrisco Heritage Academy attended the opening-night performance on November 18. These are the first groups to take advantage of the ATG's new High-School Preview Nights program.About Albuquerque Theatre Guild
