IN THE MOOD Returns to Popejoy Hall

In The Mood, a 1940's music revue, celebrates their 25th Silver Celebration tour. The show performs renowned hits with Bud Forrest's 13-piece String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra and 19 performers. Experience the performance that uplifts audiences worldwide when In The Mood returns to Popejoy Hall Friday, November 16, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

In The Mood captures the touching spirit of the swing era with arrangements by the late Vic Schoen, a well-known composer and bandleader of the era. In The Mood tells America's story from the happy-go-lucky pre-war years, through the swell of nationalism and pride that swept America's youth to defend our freedom, to the long-awaited reunion of loved ones.

With big band arrangements, dance choreographies, and American pizzazz, In The Mood honors America's defining moments through songs recorded by Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, and others. The nostalgic show performs songs such as "Swingin' on a Star," "Tuxedo Junction," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," and many more. The show's first act includes dance and music from the Big Band era, and the second act pays tribute to American veterans and active service members.

Creator and executive producer of In The Mood, Bud Forrest, trained at Julliard as a pianist and director. He served as an accompanist for the official U.S. Air Force chorus, The Singing Sergeants. In 1993, United Service Organizations chose In The Mood to perform for the 50th Commemoration of World War II.
