Pericles, Prince of Tyre, is a Shakespeare play that is full of adventure, drama, and romance, following the journey of Pericles as he travels to different exotic lands to seek a wife and to escape an undeserved death sentence.

THE PERICLES PROJECT begins with a theater group rehearsing a shortened version of Pericles, Prince of Tyre. They have to figure out how a small group of 10 actors will play the more than two dozen characters in Shakespeare's cast of characters.

The actors performing this rehearsal are relatively new to Shakespeare and must struggle to break through to the power and beauty of Shakespeare's language, thereby offering a viewing experience for the audience that is both accessible and inviting. In addition, the actors share banter between the scenes, giving audiences a unique behind-the-scenes look at how actors prepare to perform a play.

THE PERICLES PROJECT is directed by Randi Klein, who also is an actor, teacher, and writer. She recently performed her first one-woman show "The House Next Door" at Aux Dog, teaches at Sol Acting Academy, and last directed the world premiere of a new musical, All the More to Love, for the Flagstaff (AZ) Light Opera Company. She has a BA in Theatre from Loyola University of Chicago and a Masters in Directing from Arizona State University. Her New York Off-Off Broadway production of Jim Magnuson one-acts, earned "Show Business" Best Director and Best Production awards. She is an Artistic Associate at Aux Dog and is on the Aux Dog Board.
