A hit when it premiered at Sydney Theatre Company in 2015, Joanna Murray Smith’s (The Female of the Species) play places Highsmith front and centre in a story that may or may not be of her own making. A semi-recluse in Switzerland, she is visited by a young man from her publishing house ostensibly on a mission to persuade her to write one last novel. But as the sun sets and rises again over the Swiss Alps, it becomes apparent that the charming young stranger is on a far more sinister mission…
