West End Actress and Singer Bernie Nolan Passes Away at 52

Lead singer of Irish girl group The Nolans and star of West End productions such as BLOOD BROTHERS and CHICAGO BErnie Nolan passed away today, July 4, after battling breast cancer. She was 52.

Nolan's official website reads: "Bernie passed away peacefully this morning with all of her family around her. The entire family are devastated to have lost beloved Bernie, a wonderful wife, adoring mother and loving sister, she is irreplaceable."

Nolan also starred onstage in productions of Flashdance, The Devil Rides Out, Cinderella, Mum's the Word, Soap Queens (And Kings!) and more. The actress also appeared on television in The Bill and Brookside, among other UK series.

The Nolans' are known for songs such as "I'm In The Mood For Dancing", "Don't Make Waves", "Attention To Me" and "Gotta Pull Myself Together". They toured with Frank Sinatra in 1975. Nolan released her debut solo album All By Myself in 2005.
