Tron Theatre Company presents Martin McDonagh's THE LONESOME WEST on July 6-23, with press performance on July 8. Martin McDonagh's bleak but blackly comic Leenane Trilogy made his name, and the plays have been celebrated all over the world. Tron Theatre Company previously staged The Beauty Queen of Leenane in 2001 (dir. Iain Heggie).

Coleman and Valene are two brothers locked in bitter verbal combat, railing against each other and the world in bouts of sparring worthy of the best prizefighters. Their spats revolve around furtive Tato crisp consumption, poteen filching and a minor war being waged against plastic religious figurines, but when they decide to 'fess up to more serious misdemeanours in a bid to appease their local priest and restore fraternal harmony, things get vicious and bloody.

Andy Arnold has assembled a sterling cast and creative team for this production, including Keith Fleming (Stones In His Pockets) as Coleman and David Ganly as Valene, supported by Michael Dylan (Ulysses) as Father Welsh and Kirsty Punton as Girleen. Design will be by Michael Taylor, lighting design by Mark Doubleday and sound design by MJ McCarthy.
