Actress, Sharon D. Clarke, has assumed a key role in the upcoming UK premiere of Cy Coleman and Ira Gasman's, The Life, which will run at the Southwark Playhouse beginning March 25.

Clark will play Sonja: an experienced practitioner of the 'world's oldest profession'. "Sonja's getting too old for the world's oldest profession," Clarke tells the Daily Mail. "She started at 15. And she knows how to look after herself. She's a strong woman."

Director, Michael Blakemore, elected to stage the show in South London in order to ensure financial accessibility for potential audiences. He tells The Daily Mail, "Going to the theatre in the West End is like buying caviar! People, like teachers and academics, who love the theatre and were our regular audience got priced out."
