BroadwayWorld is excited to report that Burt Bacharach's PROMISES, PROMISES will return to London for the first time since 1969 at Southwark Playhouse, beginning January 2017.

Tickets go on sale next month, according to the tagline of a new Twitter account for the production.

PROMISES, PROMISES, with music by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David and book by Neil Simon, premiered on Broadway in 1968 starring Jerry Orbach (who won a Tony for his role) and Jill O'Hara.

The first London production opened the following year with Tony Roberts and Betty Buckley. The show was last revived in New York in 2010, featuring Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth.

Based on the 1960 film THE APARTMENT, PROMISES, PROMISES follows a junior executive at an insurance company who amps up his job prospects by letting his married superiors use his apartment for affairs.

Burt Bacharach is also the composer behind Broadway's THE BOY FROM OZ, THE LOOK OF LOVE and Marlene Dietrich.
