2010 TMA Theatre Awards held Sunday 7 November 2010 at Lyric Hammersmith

Leading lights from the world of theatre, opera and dance will be presenting at the 2010 TMA (Theatrical Management Association) Theatre Awards at the Lyric Hammersmith on Sunday 7 November, to celebrate the best of British theatre from around the United Kingdom.

Craig Revel Horwood, judge of BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing, and who directed and choreographed last year's winner of the TMA Best Musical Production award, Spend, Spend, Spend, is excited to be hosting the ceremony and commented: "It's fantastic that the TMA is shining the spotlight on the amazing work that takes place across the country. The TMA Awards prove that many of the best theatre, opera and dance productions, in terms of theatricality and talent, are to be found outside the West End - as fabulous as it is."

Presenters include X Factor's Lucie Jones (currently performing in Les Misérables), award-winning actor and Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres Daniel Evans, opera star Alfie Boe, acclaimed actresses Paula Wilcox and Isla Blair, and dancer Ivan Putrov, who will premiere next year at Sadler's Wells in the Pet Shop Boys' first ballet. Also presenting will be Billy Boyd (The Lord of the Rings), who is currently co-starring in The Proclaimers musical Sunshine on Leith, which will feature as part of the entertainment during the awards.

Nominees, announced earlier this month, include Frances Barber for That Face (a Sheffield Theatres production), Jonathan Pryce for The Caretaker (a Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse production), Britain's Got Bhangra (Theatre Royal Stratford East) and Glyndebourne's production of Benjamin Britten's Billy Budd.

Rachel Tackley, President of TMA, said "The 2010 event is a timely reminder of the huge range and extraordinary quality of theatrical talent that is found across the United Kingdom. We have nominees from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England. Their work, which we are honouring on November 7, is proof of the continued value of public investment in the arts."
