Rejoice! Chanticleer, the GRAMMY Award-winning vocal ensemble, is coming to town to spread warmth and light. A Chanticleer Christmas showcases an inspired and far-ranging repertoire full of new a cappella arrangements of well-known tunes—from Renaissance music to Gospel hymns, Christmas carols from all around the world to songs from the “Great American Songbook.” With 12 expressive voices ranging from soprano to bass harmonically melded for unparalleled beauty and clarity, Chanticleer has impeccable style and has amassed a huge following—selling over one million albums and performing thousands of live concerts since its creation in 1978. “The singing of Chanticleer is breathtaking in its accuracy of intonation, purity of blend, variety of color and swagger of style” (The Boston Globe).
The Center for the Arts at George Mason University announced its 2023/2024 season of mainstage performances, featuring a diverse lineup of artists and ensembles across many genres, as part of Great Performances at Mason and the Family Series. Season subscriptions are currently on sale to Friends of the Center for the Arts.
The Center for the Arts at George Mason University continues the 2019/20 season this November and December with an array of dance, theater, opera, and music from around the world through programs from Great Performances at Mason, the Family Series, as well as signature events from Mason's College of Visual and Performing Arts.
The Center for the Arts at George Mason University announced today the 2019/2020 season of Great Performances at Mason, its annual series featuring leading national and international artists in the disciplines of classical music, opera, jazz, ballet, modern dance, theater, and global music and dance. The Center also announced the return of the Family Series, offering its second season of affordable programming for young audiences.
