DRIFT is a multi-disciplinary programme that offers creative, collaborative and reflexive methodologies to further the participant's projects through mentoring, task-based experiments and professional development sessions. The deadline for applications for the 2017 free residency is Monday 27th February.

ZU-UK aim to create a temporary space in which we can discover new ways to relate to ourselves. Firstly, by examining our practice and the ways in which we work. Secondly, by asking ourselves what holds us back and what inspires us. And then, by reinventing or reshaping our ways of working as vehicles for action and reflection.

In every DRIFT session, participants projects will be exposed to ZU-UK's hybrid methodology. At times, participants will be working on their own, and at other times with professionals from other disciplines. ZU-UK are interested in how mentally flexible our minds can be, how we can create playgrounds of interesting ideas and allow our complex personalities inform the infinite ways in which to develop our work. This will not be a simple or easy process but a composite of the group's dynamic and a way of sharing creative responses.

Participants are encouraged to collaborate with each other, without the goal or pressure of a finished performance product. It is a guided model of process and community building, that strives to have repercussions on a scale beyond that of the art making. Sessions are led in English and Portuguese.

The days are divided into various guided sessions. The days open with a 'firestarter' where will introduce the company's approach to creative work through exercises that give artists new ways of experiencing their body working with varied sources in relationship to contemporary digital dilemmas around presence and embodiment.

ZU-UK are inviting expressions of interest from artists & innovators working in:

· Immersive, participatory, experimental performance & theatre

· Transmedia and digital story telling

· Interdisciplinary + collaborative practice

· Urban + pervasive gaming + game design

They welcome proposals from theatre makers + dancers + musicians + designers + photographers + digital artists + games designers + film and video artists + artist/activists + writers + any experimental and innovative thinker who wants to develop their project in a multidisciplinary environment.
