New West End Theatre Seating Guide 'SeatPlan' Launches Today
Find the best seat at any West End show - thanks to a new website for theatre lovers, www.SeatPlan.co.uk.
Seat Plan was created by theatre experts to reveal genuine theatregoers' seat experiences in a clear, easy-to-use format. Managing Editor Tim Sullivan, a 6'7" American knows uncomfortable seats all too well, said, "Anyone who's had a night at the theatre ruined by cramped knees, a pillar blocking the stage, or having to lean forward over a safety railing needs Seat Plan."
Seat Plan brings the wisdom of professional theatre reviewers and average theatregoers together. Seat Plan is teaming up with venues to provide an insider's look at the best seats in their houses. "We're thrilled to be working with the Charing Cross Theatre - I'd have to recommend row K for the luxurious legroom and row D for a great view smack-dab at the heart of the action. Seat Plan is in a unique position to offer itself as both a resource for theatre patrons and a partner for venues to show off their best seats," said Sullivan.
Theatregoers can read in-depth guides written by Seat Plan's team of professional theatre gurus as well as reviews of individual seats. After seeing a show, users can post their own reviews and comment on the seat's view, legroom, and comfort. Top reviewers will move up the site's leaderboard, affirming their expert status. With more than 49,000 seats already listed, the site aims to provide the most comprehensive theatre seating guide in London.
Seat Plan will officially launch today, 9 January 2013 with 39 top London venues profiled. In the pre-launch build up they are offering theatregoers a chance to win £100 worth of theatre vouchers which can be used at any West End show. Every seat review posted on the site by 21 December 2012 counts as an entry.
