London Writers' Week Announces New Partnerships With BBC Writersroom, Tamasha, Playwrights' Studio, Scotland

London Writers' Week has announced new partnerships with BBC Writersroom, Tamasha Theatre Company and Playwrights' Studio, Scotland.

The three new partners join The Writers' Guild of Great Britain, the MA Dramatic Writing at Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins, Writers at Work Productions, NAWE, and the London Playwrights Blog as partners on the week.

The partners will advise on and continue to develop London Writers' Week as a leading annual week offering access to and showcasing the best new writing ideas going on the UK each year.

In addition London Writers' Week has announced it will be supporting Tamasha Theatre Company's and Paines Plough's production Come to Where I'm From: London, the first time Come to Where I'm From has taken place in London.

Jennifer Tuckett, Director of London Writers' Week, said: "We are delighted to have BBC Writersroom, Playwrights' Studio, Scotland and Tamasha Theatre Company joining the new series of partnerships with the leading writing organisations that we are putting together. We hope this series of partnerships will allow us to continue to develop London Writers' Week into the writing version of London Fashion Week, providing access to and showcasing the best new ideas going on in new writing in the UK. We are also delighted to be supporting Paines Plough's and Tamasha Theatre Company's Come to Where I'm From: London alongside their other supporters - this is a truly innovative project and the first time Come To Where I'm From has taken place in London. With the last two Come to Where I'm From: London shows taking place during London Writers' Week, this is a perfect partnership and just the kind of work we are keen to support and help provide access to and showcase."

This year's London Writers' Week is on the theme of providing access to and showcasing the best new ideas going on in theatre writing in the UK and contributors include Tamasha Theatre Company, the Bush Theatre, Oberon Books, Tim Crouch, BBC Writersroom, the Arts Council of England, The Writers Guild of Great Britain with two panels of Fact Based Theatre (chaired by leading playwright David Edgar with panelists including Alecky Blythe (National Theatre)) and book writing for musical theatre (with panelists including Gurinder Chadha (Bend it like Beckham) and Catherine Johnson (Mamma Mia)).
